•All consenting pregnant women and/or mothers (who had given birth in the past 10 years) ages 18+ in the OB/GYN and pediatric waiting areas of a Region III hospital during morning hours •Semi-Structured Interviews about birth experience and perceptions of natural vs. cesarean birth •122 Patients, 12 physicians, 9 nurses Phase 2: •All consenting patients and medical professionals in OB/GYN ward of a Region III public hospital, ages 18+ during morning hours •Medical Conference with visiting medical charities •Hour-long, recorded meeting with hospital medical team •Ethnographic observation of birth management for 27 birth cases in the OB/GYN ward •75 hours of observation and accompaniment of patients and medical team in OB/GYN ward |
